Misquoting Jesus by Bart D. Ehrman

I found this book fascinating.

Ehrman presents a well argued, scholarly work dealing with how the books of the Bible and specifically, the New Testament have been altered through the ages, both purposefully and accidentally.

In a move that gives his work added weight, he lays out the methodologies of the scholarly field of textual criticism and then presents clear examples to support his arguments regarding changes made and motivations therefore.

My friend Kimberley says the bible is like a huge collection of loose papers that some guy is running along with. He trips and falls and collects the papers and tries to put them together again, but some are lost, others put in the wrong place.

This book seems to put forth the argument that not only did someone scatter and lose parts, but others edited it for political and other reasons.

I'll try to read this too.
